Ernest Oberholtzer Merit Badge Clinic
First Aid & Medicine
Saturday, February 1, 2014
Hosted by the Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Committee

This is the 12th Illowa Council First Aid Merit Badge Clinic.  This year there will also be a Medicine Merit Badge Clinic, and Scouts will be able to choose to participate in either of the clinics. This opportunity and learning experience is difficult to recreate in a troop.

First Aid Merit Badge students will be able to see state of the art first aid and resuscitation equipment and should bring their assembled home first aid kit. It is recommended that Scouts have achieved Tenderfoot Rank or higher for this clinic.

Scouts attending the Medicine Merit Badge clinic will complete all but one of the requirements which relates to volunteer time to a health related facility or program. Due to the advanced nature of this clinic, it is recommended that Scouts be at least age 13.

ALL Scouts should have read and reviewed the merit badge book in order to pass a written exam at the end of the day.

The merit badge clinics will be held at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Please go to the Adler Health Education Center in the lower level of the Genesis Heart Institute (1236 E. Rusholme St., Davenport IA) for registration.  This year, participants will receive pizza and soft-drink for lunch.  You are encouraged to bring your own lunch to meet any special dietary needs.

Registration is $10 per Scout if paid by January 20th and $20 after that date. The Clinics include the merit badge card, a patch and lunch.  SPACE IS LIMITED.  Once the clinics are full, no late registrations will be accepted.
