Sha-Bo-Na Klondike

The Sha-Bo-Na District Klondike Derby
Is a Boy Scout event held annually each January to give Scouts the opportunity to test their skills in the adverse conditions of a winter setting.  Area Troops sponsor Patrols in an authentic Klondike style Dog Sled race where each Patrol provides a sled, required equipment and Scouts for the purpose of propulsion. Each Patrol moves their sled along a course making station stops where they must test their skills with various outdoor activities and acquire points for their degree of accomplishment.

The Klondike usually offers the opportunity for Troop Camping and units are encouraged to check the information packet for details.  Webelos Patrols are allowed to participate in the day time derby activities however are discouraged from overnight camping.  Webelos Patrols must also be sponsored by a Boy Scout Troop.
