Youth Protection
Is the first step in the leader training process and is a Required training course for All Adult Scout Leaders in order to be registered with the Boy Scouts of America. Redly available Online, and requires a My Scouting account youth protection is also offered at Roundtable and Pow Wow and can be performed at the unit level using the current Youth Protection Guidelines DVD which can be purchased on line or at your local Scout shop or acquired on loan from the District Training Chair. Unit level training should be conducted by an individual that has been approved by the District Training Chair to assure proper credit has been awarded those who attend such course Venture Leader Youth Protection
Is Required for all Venture Leaders and is also redly available Online with a My Scouting account and may be offered at training events such as the University of Scouting or Roundtable. A Time to Tell is available in DVD format and is targeted toward 11 thru 14 year old Boy Scouts usually offered at the unit level, leaders should obtain permission form parents or guardians before instructing this course
Personal Safety Awareness is available in DVD format and is targeted toward 14 thru 20 year old youth usually offered at the unit level, leaders should obtain permission form parents or guardians before instructing this course

A change in policy regarding Youth Protection mandates has be set in affect June 1 2010 by the National Council of the BSA
All registered leaders must be current with youth protection without exception, including new leaders upon registration and
returning leaders upon recharter
