CPR/AED and Wilderness First Aid Trainings
Twice a year the Illowa Council will host a CPR/AED or Wilderness First Aid Training at the Council Service Center or Camp Loud Thunder. If we do have an upcoming training, you will find registration information located on this page.
Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Training
November 21 - 22, 2015
This class is designed to give you solid first aid skills in a wilderness setting. This course teaches first aid skills for situations in which emergency care is delayed for long periods, or self evacuation is necessary. Includes injury prevention, proper advanced preparation, basic and more advanced first aid techniques, short-distance transfer and evacuation techniques.
Participants need to be at least 16 years old and must have a valid CPR/AED certification to begin the WFA training course. CPR/AED training is a Friday night ‘add-on’ option for this course.
The next training class will be held on November 21 - 22, 2015, at Camp Loud Thunder. If you are attending the CPR 'add-on' course, plan to be at camp on Friday, November 20.

Registration is limited to the first 25 participants: http://illowabsa.org/WFAFall2015
Wilderness First Aid certification is a required course for at least one adult leader on any BSA high adventure trip. However, it is recommended that two adult leaders get trained.
